CH30 – Montgomery GI Bill

The Montgomery GI Bill program is for individuals who enlisted in the U.S. Armed Forces and paid $1,200 to opt in to the program (generally $100 per month for the first 12 months of enlistment).  It provides up to 36 full-time months of education benefits paid directly to you as the student.  Generally, benefits are payable for up to 10 years following release from active duty, or until the benefits are exhausted. Benefits are paid monthly via direct deposit from the Department of Veterans Affairs.  With this program, no money is sent directly to the school, so it is your responsibility to pay for your charges, either out-of-pocket or via financial aid from your school, if applicable.  To check the most current payment rates for Chapter 30 MGIB please click here.
